In recent years, ladies and girl’s rugby has become something of a phenomenon, becoming increasingly popular. Long standing clubs across the city and beyond have introduced female teams and the girls and ladies involved are really enjoying playing, reaping both the physical and mental benefits that come along with participating in team sports.
One such club with a thriving female squad is East Leeds ARLFC but they need your help! Due to the rapid growth of the game, matches are now being played further afield and as a result, the club are needing sponsorship this season to help with travel costs. Teams will be travelling to away fixtures at places such as Whitley Bay, Wigan and Hull, and unlike some clubs in the city, they receive no funding from external organisations. The girls in the U12’s, U14’s and U16 squads, along with their families do all they can to raise funds, but they would really welcome any help offered to enable them to continue playing the sport that they love!
