To all at Yorkshire reporter.

We just wanted say a big thank you for the passed 6 months firstly for helping with the design of our advertisement it’s certainly not gone unnoticed. Since Door Canopy Co has started out in January we continue to increase orders every month. We do advertise in local trades magazines & will continue to do so but The Yorkshire Reporter is working hands down, fact is that we get as many orders from the 3 other publications as we do in your paper so we will continue advertising with you the foreseeable future, good luck & keep up the good work.

Kind regards
Neil & Samantha Larkin. Door Canopy Co.

I have been advertising in the Yorkshire Reporter newspaper since it’s launch. The advert is displayed and designed to a professional standard. I also booked a business review on the advice of Brian (Managing Director, Yorkshire Reporter); this worked really well and generated a great deal of interest. New customers have seen the advert in the paper and I have certainly been a lot busier than usual. I also take some copies of the paper for the shop. People have commented on the quality of the paper and the articles that have been covered, they really enjoy reading it. The distribution outlets are in exactly the right locations and market for me, it is spot on. It has also given local people more insight into what local businesses can offer, such as good advice and service that perhaps is not always available in large outlets.

I have been advertising in the Yorkshire Reporter Newspaper since it’s first edition. When I was first approached I liked the concept of the newspaper and agreed there was a gap in the market for such a publication. I decided to give it a go. Having previously dealt with Brian Holmes, the Managing Director in the past I knew he was an honest professional therefore I trusted his commitment and enthusiasm for the paper. 7 months on the paper is working very well for me and has brought new business from the immediate area and from many parts of Leeds. The help and advice I have received is as I expected both knowledgeable and professional. I also take some copies of the paper for my customers; they usually pick it up, start reading it in the shop and then take it home. The range of topics mixed with informative news has created a lot of interesting conversation and people really like the paper. I have just booked for 12 months it certainly works for me and I would recommend other businesses to give it go.

I started taking delivery of the paper from the first edition for my customers to pick up. I didn’t know if this would prove to be popular or not. However as a local businessman I like to help where I can. Initially I put them where I could, but the paper was so popular I asked if they could provide a stand, which they did. We take hundreds of papers every month and still run out. Customers enjoy reading it and talking about it. I am often asked when the delivery is due for the following edition. I have advertised in the past with various publications and nothing has worked. The Fish Restaurant has now been in the family for 50 years, we are very well established and I have felt no need to advertise, it would be money wasted. Recently I have done quite a few functions for celebrations of various kinds. I have a licence for a bar and I am applying for an entertainment licence. This is one area of my business that I would like to develop. Given that I have the paper in the shop I decided to try promote this through the paper. The Yorkshire Reporter did me a review that I thought was excellent. However with no advertising previously working I wasn’t sure this would. To my delight within days of it been distributed I started to take bookings, the new customers stating they had seen the review in the Yorkshire Reporter. I have read the paper each month personally and I can see why people like it. The gap for this type of publication in the market is now filled and it is far better than other free newspapers that used to be around, and a lot of paid for papers.

On behalf of Selby Wildlife Rehabilitation I would like to say a huge thank you to Yorkshire Reporter readers who responded with kindness and compassion.

The gales just before Christmas caused havoc to many birds of prey and our wildlife rescue was like a revolving door as one bird after another came in. On Christmas Eve, in came Gabrielle, a beautiful tawny owl severely injured after being blown into barbed wire fencing. Even on Christmas day our doors remained open as a tiny hedgehog was admitted. Not much bigger than a mince pie, this autumn juvenile weighed just 300g and would have surely perished if left in the wild.

Through your support, these orphaned, injured and sick creatures have received the care they need and a second chance at life. Please keep our details handy; you never know when you may need us.

Thought I would send you a quick letter as I’m extremely happy with the response to my advert for dog lovers. I have even had enquiries for holiday bookings from dog owners.

I have advertised in several papers and monthly magazines before but I’ve never had such a good response.

Brian and his team created exactly the advert I’d hoped for and I won’t hesitate to advertise in the Yorkshire Reporter again in the future.
