PassVenture is designed to make planning simpler, with ideas for places to visit, suggested bus routes, journey changes and budget information. It is being developed especially with concessionary bus pass holders in mind, helping them explore where their pass can take them for £0 travel costs. It is also for anyone looking for a low-cost way to travel. The pilot will gather feedback to help shape the app and make it more useful to local people and visitors. PassVenture could also help introduce travellers to destinations and businesses beyond the city centre, supporting communities across the region. From 1 January 2027, single fares on participating bus services in England are due to be capped at £2. That could make bus trips more affordable for people without a concessionary pass, too. The cap applies to eligible single fares, so travellers should still check with their bus operator. PassVenture aims to bring trip ideas and practical planning together in one place, while making clear that routes, timetables and pass eligibility should be checked before travelling.
