AN ACTION PACKED SUMMER AT THACKRAY MEDICAL MUSEUM

Local News

Whether you have a budding scientist or medic at home, or you just want to tear the kids away from the sofa, Thackray Medical Museum has lots of fun activities to keep all the family entertained during the summer holidays.
Every weekday until 2 September, children can conduct fun medical and science experiments in a series of hands-on Science Busking workshops. From extracting DNA, to making a stethoscope or even creating x-ray vision, there’s something for all ages to take part in.
Liz Egan, Learning Manager said “Science Busking is a great way to engage children in the exciting world of science and medicine whilst having fun. We’ll be teaching lots of tricks that children can then take away to share with their friends and family at home”
The museum will also be running a number of family fun days during the holidays, with special appearances from everyone’s favourite Octonauts medic. Octonauts Family Fun Days run on 6th and 25th August and include Octonauts cartoons and crafts, guest appearances and a teddy bear’s hospital. There will be further photo opportunities as the Octonauts medic will be appearing in the museum galleries at 11.30am and 1pm on 10th, 17th and 23rd August.
On 18th August there will be a special screening of the Disney Pixar film Inside Out with face painting and Inside Out themed crafts.  Pre-booking is essential.
Further details about all events can be found on the museum website;
