Aire Force One, Leeds’ Only Men’s Roller Derby Team Welcomes You To Join Them

Sport

Aire Force One is Leeds’ only Men’s Roller Derby Team, established October 2013. They became a competitive league in September 2014 and entered their first British Championships at the start of 2015, where they had great success in coming third in their division. 2016 sees them once again competing in the British Championships as part of which they will be hosting their first home game on Saturday 14th May in conjunction with Leeds Roller Dolls. Training takes place each Sunday at Futsal Arena. Both experienced Veterans and new Cadets practice alongside each other. If you are 18+ and able to skate five laps unaided, the only other skills needed are enthusiasm and a willingness to give it your all. Support from existing team members is always available and you can borrow equipment to get you started. If you would like to practice there’s a social skate called Wednesday Skate. A member of the team is usually there to help, just look out for the team shirt.
Ian, aka War Cub #669, says, ‘’Roller Derby has really changed my life. It’s a great way to keep fit and the team camaraderie / support provided by Air Force One is second to none’’.
Aire Force One welcomes all skaters and there are also opportunities for those wishing to become Referees or Non-skating Officials.
