Bubble Rush Announces Marie Curie As Charity Partner For 15 Events In 2021

Charity

Bubble Rush, the fun run through coloured bubbles, has announced a partnership with end of life charity Marie Curie, where funds raised at 15 events in 2021 will help the charity care for people living with a terminal illness, and their families.

The partnership will include events to be held at Myrtle Park Bradford on Sunday 18th July 2021, and at Knavesmire, York on Saturday 7th August 2021, supporting the charity’s hospice and local nursing teams in Yorkshire.

Bubble Rush is a fun run for all ages and abilities. The events are not timed and each course is designed to be pushchair and wheelchair friendly.  Around the course are four ‘bubble stations’, each one filled with coloured foam. Participants can chose to run or walk the two lap 5k course, but will go through each bubble station twice for double the foamy fun.

Participants at each event will be encouraged to raise funds for Marie Curie’s nursing service and Information and Support services. There will also be opportunities for local businesses to get involved by sponsoring the bubble stations and other elements of the event.  Proceeds from all sponsorship income and fundraising will go directly to the charity.

Faye Waters, Community Fundraiser in Yorkshire at Marie Curie, says: “Bubble Rush is an enormously fun way for friends and families to raise money, all while enjoying a great day out.  During the pandemic, Marie Curie has seen an increased demand on services caring for dying people and supporting their loved ones. Thanks to the public’s generosity at events like Bubble Rush, it will ensure Marie Curie Nurses can continue providing the vital care for people who are dying and living with a terminal illness, as well as their loved ones, when they need it most.”

Diana Caldwell of Bubble Rush organisers, Chicken Salad Events, says: “After such a challenging year when families and friends have been kept apart by the pandemic we are really looking forward to giving them the opportunity to have some fun together and help a good cause.  We’re really looking forward to working with the Marie Curie team in Yorkshire, and adding some colour to peoples’ calendars.”

Bubble Rush events are being planned to ensure they operate in a COVID-safe way, in line with guidance issued by the Government and the Events industry.  This includes provision for social distancing and enhanced hygiene measures.  In addition the organisers plans have been audited in line with the events industry’s ‘Safe Event Scheme’ to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.
