Caring For Life Receives £11k Grant From Morrisons Foundation

Charity

The Morrisons Foundation has donated £11,000 to Caring For Life, a Leeds based charity which over the last 30 years has supported more than 5,000 vulnerable and homeless people.

In addition to its housing support work, long-term supported living homes and therapeutic activity projects, at Crag House Farm the charity runs a restaurant, farm shop, cafe, garden nurseries, and also sensory gardens, the latter being maintained by volunteers and vulnerable adults. The donation from the Morrisons Foundation will be used to create a new outdoor play area at the site which more than 60,000 people visit every year.

The cheque was presented on behalf of the Foundation by Sarah Marston, from the Morrisons store in Horsforth, who said: “The Morrisons Foundation supports charities which make a positive difference in local communities and Caring For Life does just that. It was great to meet the team and find out more about what they do.”

Zoe Smith from Caring for Life said: “We are thrilled to have received this grant from the Morrisons Foundation, which will enable us to install high quality play equipment. This will also benefit children from vulnerable families supported by Caring For Life’s Being There housing support Team, families which rarely have the opportunity to leave inner city areas of deprivation and spend quality time in beautiful countryside.”

The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarkets in 2015 and awards grants for charity projects which help to improve people’s lives. Since launching over £15 million has been donated to hundreds of charities across England, Scotland and Wales.
