Otley Victorian Fayre and Christmas Market

Otley Victorian Fayre was originally the brainchild of Otley Chamber of Trade. They wanted to give the town’s shops a boost in the run up to Christmas and chose the Victorian theme because it was in the Victorian era that Christmas, as we now know it, really started. The first Fayre was held in 1985 and was an immediate success.

It is a free community event that takes place within a large road closure in the centre of Otley. This year it is on Sunday 1st December and runs from Noon to 6pm.

There are approximately 100 stalls, street entertainers, donkeys, indoor craft stalls at the Black Horse Hotel and a traditional fairground.

The fayre is organised by the Otley Town Partnership (OTP) who are a voluntary organisation, led by a Board of Directors, which undertakes a broad range of community based activities to promote Otley for the benefit of the town.
