Crest Nicholson Secures Planning Permission For New Site In East Ayton

Local News

Award winning housebuilder Crest Nicholson has secured planning permission to deliver 56 much needed new homes on a site in East Ayton, five miles south west of Scarborough. 30% of the homes at the development are earmarked as affordable.

The East Ayton site will become one of the housebuilder’s landmark Yorkshire developments Meadow Fields, located within the popular historic village on Racecourse Road, five miles to the southwest of Scarborough.

The site benefits from good transport links and is less than 3 miles from Seamer train station, as well as being close to Scarborough with great links to the A64 and A170. Local shops, amenities and several schools are all located close by.

As part of the build, Crest Nicholson will contribute almost £140,000 towards local sports facilities, health services, education and Highways under its Section 106 obligations. The first completion on site is anticipated in Spring 2025.

Simon Utley, Director in Charge of Crest Nicholson Yorkshire, commented: “As we continue our commitment to build communities in Yorkshire, we’re pleased to secure planning permission for our East Ayton development. We’ve built strong communities at our developments across the country, and this development will be our third in Yorkshire. East Ayton is ideally placed with good local schools, sports facilities and transport links across both road and rail.”

“We look forward to progressing planning work on the site and to bring more than 50 quality new homes to the area over the next couple of years.”

Crest Nicholson launched its first development in the area, Copley Park near Doncaster, earlier this year, offering three, four and five bedroom new homes for sale in Doncaster, starting from £300,000. Crest Nicholson’s second development Cygnet View, located near Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire, also offers three, four and five bedroom houses from £350,000.
