‘A FISH CALLED BLUE’

EntertainmentYR Book Club

Blue is a small fish who longs to climb a tree. She does her best, but her forest companions – the squirrel, the monkey, the spider and others – encourage her but then laugh when she fails. Finally, she meets a friendly bear cub who helps her discover what she’s really good at.

This charming book with its delightful illustrations will encourage everyone to make the best of themselves and their abilities and recognise the power of kindness.

Author Jacky Patel is the middle of five children of artistic parents. She is forty-nine years old and has had a love affair with books and words for as long as she can remember.

She wanted to write and illustrate a book that children would enjoy but that would hopefully remind them to have ‘kind hands’ and a ‘gentle voice’ when dealing with others and when judging themselves. She lives in a beautiful hamlet in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, with her husband Kamlesh.
