Fundraising walk for reminiscence resources

Local News

A group of Social Workers completed an 18 miles sponsored walk (Bolton Abbey- Grassington- Bolton Abbey) They managed to raise over £1500. This will help to purchase reminiscence resources for patients to access whilst in hospital.

Social Worker Gemma Riding said;

“We are hoping to focus on two wards at St James’s and to purchase books, jigsaws, memory cards, memorabilia packs. This is to help relieve the boredom people face when in hospital and to provide stimulation for patients. Research shows the real benefits of reminiscence work with people who have dementia”.
