Gizmo Says Gizza’ Home

FeaturesWagging Tales

Staff at Dogs Trust Leeds are appealing for a home for a dog that has been waiting a full year – almost half his life – for someone to fall in love with him.

Gizmo became homeless a year ago after his owner could sadly no longer take care of him due to illness, and the team at the York Road rehoming centre are shocked that he is still waiting to find his special someone.

Amanda Sands, Dogs Trust Leeds Manager, says:

“He is a lovely boy but he hasn’t found his special someone which is such a shame and we really don’t know why. He can be shy at first but he is such a good boy, intelligent and once he gets to know you he is very loving and playful, and loves his toys!”

The two-year-old Labrador Cross has seen hundreds of his canine companions head off to their new homes but for reasons that the team don’t understand, he has been left behind.

Amanda says:

“He does need an adult only home as he likes his own space and he also needs to be the only dog in the home, but many dogs with the same requirements have found their forever home in the last year, but sadly not Gizmo. Ideally his new family would live in a quieter area as he gets excited around other dogs, but he will make a lovely addition to the right home.

“We always hope a dog is for life but sometimes, as with Gizmo, it can’t always be the case. Gizmo is a super dog who just needs to be given a second chance to have what all dogs deserve, love and attention at the heart of a home.”

If you think you could offer Gizmo the home he has been waiting for, please call the centre on 0300 303 0292 or visit them at Woodlands Farm, York Road, Leeds, LS15 4NL. You can also find out more at www.dogstrust.org.uk
