Constantin Manole opened Kings of Cycling on York Road, Leeds in 2011. He is an experienced, semi-professional cyclist and having worked previously as a bike mechanic for 7 years in Headingley, when the opportunity arose for him to open his own business he jumped at the chance.
He says that the popularity of cycling has definitely increased following the 2012 Olympics, the Tour de France and now the upcoming Tour de Yorkshire. The new routes and guided rides that Leeds City Council have invested in are also helping people to get on their bikes and feel safer while doing so too.
With 15 years in total as a professional bike mechanic, and many more years prior to that spent repairing and maintaining his own bikes, Constantin loves to bring old bikes back to life.
