‘A weekend of street food, drink, music, film, art and family fun brought to you by Belgrave and Leeds Indie Food.’
Since the first Belgrave Feast in October 2013, the monthly street food event has gone from strength to strength, rapidly developing each month; building and forging relationships with the various up and coming independent street food brands spread throughout the UK and within the North.
In collaboration with Leeds Indie Food Festival, Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen and Beacons Metro, Leeds Feast is set to come together for the first time in May. Showcasing the best of what street food, music, art and film in Leeds has to offer in 2015 and all set in the beautiful Tetley Museum & art space.
Outside The Tetley will feature a whole host of exciting activities with a huge craft beer tent with live music and DJs and the most progressive breweries around. Some of the brightest names in food are set to appear too. Rita’s Dining all the way from London will be bringing their famous chicken rolls and trademark frozen margaritas. Leeds Feast is very proud to bring Norse to Leeds, with Head Chef Murray Wilson (former Masterchef: The Professionals finalist) and an inspirational Nordic inspired small plates menu and matching clay pot fermented wines. Food from Leeds favourites, Fish&, Manjit’s Kitchen, Fu-Schnikens, Dough Boys Pizza, Patty Smiths Burgers, Leeds Juicery, Madeline Express, Northern Bloc (Ice-Cream) Laynes Espresso, Café Moor and Bahn Mi Booth. Plus the very best food from the UK street food scene Dorshi, The Cheese Truck, Clawhide Grill, Longhorns BBQ, Crabbie Shack, Yakumama, Fat Annies and Arepa! Arepa! Arepa!
Inside you will have a range of free industry panels on coffee, beer, street food and an independent food and drink publishing. The panels will feature Miranda York from Toast, Nicholas Dawes from Hop & Barley magazine and Anthony Hodgson from Face publications alongside industry experts and local legends. A special Bundobust supper club (SOLD OUT) and North Bar are presenting several Nikka Whisky tasting sessions during the day. Inside you will also find a host of great stalls from No Culture Icons, Colours May Vary and more. The launch of the Northern Coffee Guide will take place on the Saturday too.
Ash Kollakowski, Leeds Feast says:
‘For the past 18 months Belgrave Feast has gone strength to strength and this has had a huge knock on effect to other Street Food events in Leeds, which is great for all the traders, especially as we run 3 food brands through Belgrave. We wanted to expand the idea whilst still aiming at the demographic that Belgrave appeals too, which isn’t the chutney and deli style farmers markets but the more US style street food vendors. We’ve visited Austin, Portland and New York to draw inspiration for our food events and Leeds Feast will not disappoint.’
Matt Dix, Leeds Indie Food:
“We knew the team at Belgrave Music Hall would put together an awesome closing party, but we didn’t know it would be quite this awesome! We’ve got some of the country’s best street food traders, the brightest sparks of our own food scene and a few amazing outsiders all in one place alongside some really interesting panels and talks, plus music and art. It feels like a bit of a game changer, and there’s no better representation of what Leeds Indie Food is trying to do.”
