Leeds Student Icon 2015

IconInc, Leeds’ most luxurious student accommodation brand, is launching a lavish competition which will give one lucky student in Leeds the chance to live like an icon free for a year.

The “Leeds’ Student Icon of the Year 2015” competition, which launched on 16th February, will seek out students doing the great and the good – and reward the winning “Icon” with a luxury apartment, worth over £7,000 a year, in IconInc’s brand new accommodation ‘The Edge’ in Leeds City Centre.

The competition marks the launch of IconInc, a new luxury student accommodation brand which plans to reinvent student living with the most superior student accommodation in Leeds.

IconInc is appealing for Leeds’ most inspirational students to submit nominations and entries outlining why they, or a friend, are a student icon. Students are encouraged to be inventive and imaginative in the production of their entries, which can be submitted in any format, from a simple email to a blog, from a song to a dance routine, or even a message in a bottle.

Izzie Thomas from Leeds Student Radio, who will be one of the competition judges, said; “I’m thrilled to be invited to help judge Leeds’ Student Icon of the Year 2015. We hope to uncover the greatest, most inspirational and pioneering students in Leeds – it could be somebody who’s been integral in developing student initiatives or setting up clubs, perhaps a person who’s done something particularly generous or selfless for a friend, family member or within the community. We look forward to recognising the most admirable students in our city with the luxury lifestyle they deserve.”

The competition will close for entries on 31st March 2015, following which a panel of judges, including Made in Leeds TV Presenter Beth Krysta Wilson, Izzie Thomas from Leeds Student Radio, former Leeds University Student and GB Hockey Olympic Bronze Medallist Ashleigh Ball and the Managing Director of IconInc, will shortlist 5 worthy student icons to go through to the final. Leeds’ residents, family members and friends of the contestants will be called upon to show their support and vote for who should be crowned Leeds Student Icon 2015, with the finalists taking to the streets, social media and university clubs to make their case and appeal for votes.

The student icon with the most votes will win a year’s tenancy in a luxury apartment at the newly built The Edge, which offers the luxury, modern design and cutting edge technology of a boutique hotel – 365 days of the year. The lavish and beautifully furnished apartments include en-suite bathroom, plush double or king bed, flat screen TV, high-speed Wi-Fi and utility bills. The “all-inclusive” facilities at The Edge include an on-site gym with available personal trainers, a cinema room, games zone, complimentary daily breakfast, study rooms, self-service pantry and 24 hour concierge. Tenants can choose from a range of optional extras, including professional cleaning, daily fresh fruit delivery, kitchen equipment, luxury Egyptian cotton towels and bedding hand-picked by IconInc’s interior designer.

The competition is open to Leeds students, prospective and existing, enrolled in study from September 2015. To enter the competition, please see the full details and T&C’s at https://www.icon-inc.co.uk/blog/leeds-student-icon.
