Made In Leeds – Your New City TV Channel

Local News

Last month we introduced the new Made in Leeds TV channel that broadcasts 24 hours day on Freeview channel 8, Sky Guide 117 and Virgin 159.

We caught up with Station Manager, Lee Ford to ask some questions about the new channel and what the people of Leeds can expect in 2015:

Lee, tell us a bit about the Made in Leeds team:

Well there’s around 15 of us who work in the Leeds office including presenters, sales staff, editors and journalists. We have a great variety of experience and knowledge in the team from people like myself and Jason Thornton, Head of News who have worked in the industry for years to new graduates including our video journalist, Beth Krysta Wilson who has come straight from Leeds Beckett University. It’s a fantastic team – very hard working and enthusiastic.

What has the feedback been like since you launched back in November 2014?

The feedback has been really positive and we’ve had constant engagement with the audience through social media which has been really insightful. We’re growing as a channel every day, attracting new viewers and discovering new talent and voices from our city which is so exciting.

What can people expect from the channel?

Made in Leeds is unashamedly for the people of Leeds and the surrounding area. We are so proud to be part of this city and the opportunity to have our own TV channel is a great outlet for news, events, achievements and original programmes that may otherwise never have the chance be seen on TV. Any ideas for programmes should be sent to info@madeinleeds.tv  ”

What are the main aims for the station in 2015?

2015 is all about positioning ourselves as the main media outlet for Leeds and producing some amazing content for the viewers to enjoy. Plus we want our viewers to know at least one person that’s featured on the channel.
