Mr Motivator Releases His Autobiography – The Warm Up

EntertainmentLocal News

The Warm Up, out now is the much-awaited autobiography from Mr Motivator – the man many of us started our days with as school children, teenagers, or young adults leaving for work.
During the 1990s, Derrick Evans was a regular on our television screens and to this day is welcomed at festivals and events around the world as the charismatic, enthusiastic and energetic man we exercised with every morning. His story opens in 2014 with the BBC’s show ‘Tumble’ and the knee injury that forced him to withdraw.
We follow Derrick as he launches a new exercise concept and DVD called Bouncefit kids. At the Snowbombing Festival, we discover he’s been travelling dangerously soon after an eye operation to honour his commitments and we learn of his continued popularity during live appearances – even decades after his GMTV days.
Yet Mr M’s life has not always been quite so exotic, high-flying and exciting. Chapter one provides insight into Derrick’s early life in a small Jamaican village in the 1950s, with memories of chores, school, punishments and sexual abuse providing a stark contrast to the introduction of The Warm Up.
Derrick writes openly, honestly and with passion – his infectious enthusiasm and motivation for happiness are in abundance in his story, as in his life, and this book will become a must-read for anyone who lived through the peak of the Mr Motivator era.
The Warm Up retails at just £14.99 and is available in bookshops and online on Amazon.
In conjunction with Filament Publishing we have a competition for the chance to win a copy of The Warm Up.
