National Council For The Divorced, Separated And Widowed – New Members Welcome!

Local News

With loneliness making news headlines on the television, The National Council for the Divorced, Separated and Widowed (NCDSW) may be the perfect antidote. The Leeds branch of this non-profit making organisation meet up every week for drinks, dancing and more importantly — conversation.
This group of people have all found themselves in a similar situation and meet up at 8pm every Monday at the Main Line Social Club on Pudsey Road to make new friends and have fun. The ethos of the club is focussed around friendship and the group enjoy spending time with each other to break up what, may be for some, a monotonous week. As well as the regular Monday evenings which also include quizzes and other entertainment, the members enjoy regular outings such as the lunch club.
The lunch club meet on the last Friday of every month to sample the gastronomic delights of a different restaurant each time across the city.
A highlight of the year is the annual trip to the coast. Making the most of our beautiful Yorkshire coastline, the group have visited Whitby, Scarborough and Bridlington. Also on the agenda last year was a trip to Blackpool to take in the sights of the famous illuminations.
December was of course a busy month for the club with a Dinner Dance taking place at the Corn Mill, Pudsey. There was also the much anticipated trip to Newquay for a Turkey & Tinsel event.
With all this going on and more the club is a hive of social activity, and is just what is needed for many in a world that is becoming increasingly isolating. All the events and trips are either free or subsidised, and annual membership to the group is just £10, with a £1 charge for each Monday evening meeting you attend once you have become a member. Adults of all ages are welcome, and you are free to go along up to 3 times before deciding if the club is something of which you would like to be a part.
For more information you can contact Mr Pritchard on 0113 2250547, or alternatively turn up on a Monday night and join in!
