Local News

After undergoing a £16million transformation, The Queens Hotel has been hailed as one of the best hotels in the country by The Sunday Times, with the reviewer praising the ‘magnificent restaurant’ and art-deco inspired interiors.

The national newspaper released its much-anticipated list of the Best Places to Stay with The Queens Hotel Leeds making the cut amongst other big names in the hospitality world.

Situated in the heart of Leeds, right next to the train station and with views of City Square, the newly transformed hotel offers an incredible base for guests to explore, whilst enjoying the hotel’s rich and iconic history.

Celebrating over 80 years in the city, the modernised hotel features a totally transformed ground floor and provides visitors flexible options to socialise, work, or dine – a far cry from the traditionally quiet hotel lobby.

The Queens Hotel refurbishment also included a much-anticipated renovation of all bedrooms, adding an additional 17, bringing the room total to 232 including a Presidential Suite with outdoor terrace. With impressive views of bustling City Square, the reviewer exclaims: “It feels like half the city has turned out to wish you good morning.”

The hotel is also home to Grand Pacific, a sumptuous all-day dining destination comprising a 100-cover restaurant, private dining room and bar, which the reviewer praised as ‘magnificent’ and noted the carefully selected art-deco fittings. Café Pacific coffee lounge also forms a social hub at the heart of the hotel, providing a perfect co-working space.

Alistair Campbell, General Manager of The Queens Hotel Leeds, comments: “It is a huge honour to be included in The Sunday Times top 100 Best Places to Stay guide.  It’s a testament to our incredible team and demonstrates the quality of the refurbishment, which has allowed us to welcome guests back to this iconic Leeds landmark.

“We’re thrilled that there has been an overwhelmingly positive response to the transformation and now that people are excited to get back out and about, we can’t wait to showcase the new look to our guests, whether they are staying, making use of our co-working and meeting spaces or simply enjoying the relaxing surroundings of Grand Pacific.”
