Prashad Cooks for St George’s Crypt

Nationally renowned restauranteur Bobby Patel and his head chef wife Minal, from the Drighlington-based Prashad restaurant teamed up with St George’s Crypt to prepare and deliver lunch for the charity’s clients.
The event was planned, organised and facilitated through Ed Ryder of Biskit Ltd, an Otley based Marketing and Design Company that has partnered with St George’s Crypt on a number of successful projects.
This is the second time the multi-award winning South Indian and Gujarati vegetarian restaurant, known for traditional cooking methods, using locally sourced ingredients and runner up on Gordon Ramsey’s Best Restaurant TV series has prepared the lunchtime service for St George’s Crypt, providing a five-star meal to 60+ homeless, vulnerable and marginalised adults.
Daz Smith, Warden for St George’s Crypt, said, on tasting an onion pakora – ‘it melts in your mouth – it’s got so many flavours that I’ve never tasted; I wish we could eat this every day!’
The clients raved about the food, describing it as ‘brilliant’, ‘delicious’ and ‘exquisite’.
