Quarantine: Zombie Fright Night at Thackray Medical Museum

Local News

Are you brave enough to step inside the Quarantine Zone at Thackray Medical Museum this Halloween? As the lights are turned down, you are invited to enter the Zombie infested museum and explore the galleries after dark and after hours.

Quarantine: Zombie Fright Night is an interactive event that is sure to terrify and delight in equal measure. For one night only, the museum will be overrun by disease-ridden Zombies who will lurk behind corners ready to pounce on their unsuspecting victims.

Charlotte Chester, Learning Officer said “This is one of our most popular events of the year and a real opportunity to interact with the museum in a different way. When the lights are out this old and imposing building really does take on a different feel.”

This over 18s event starts at 9.30pm on 31 October. Those who make it through the galleries alive can celebrate in undead style at the zombie disco, strike a gruesome pose in the infected photo booth or take a chance with a fearsome lucky dip. A bar serving food and drinks will be open during the event.

Tickets are available to buy online at www.thackraymedicalmuseum.co.uk/what-s-on/ or by calling 0113 244 4343. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more.

For younger museum visitors, October Half Term provides the opportunity to explore the mysteries of the brain with Brilliant Brains workshops. With the help of neurosurgeons from St James’s Hospital, children will have the chance to watch a live brain dissection and take part in brain themed activities. Workshops run 26-30 October, 10am-4pm.
