Rare Eye Condition Spotted In 20-Year-Old As Free Eye Test Initiative Targets The City

1 in 2 tested at the Vision Express Vision Van found to need new prescriptions, with one referred for further medical attention
Almost half of the people in Leeds city centre who had their eyes tested on board the ‘Vision Van’ were found to need new prescriptions – as a result of a free eye test drive that hit the city on Friday 23 September 2016.
A 20-year-old local resident was advised to seek further medical attention after suspected keratoconus – irregular, dome-shaped corneas – was detected during his eye test, a thinning disorder which causes visual distortion and affects around 1 in 1,000 people.
