THE HAVEN BREAST CANCER CHARITY BLOSSOM FASHION SHOW RAISES OVER £16,500

Over £16,500 was raised at The Queens Hotel for breast cancer support centre The Haven, a charity helping to support women and men from all around Yorkshire that have been affected by breast cancer.More than 430 guests gathered in Leeds on Sunday 13th March 2016 to watch the incredible ladies, all of who have had breast cancer, walk the catwalk together to raise funds for the Yorkshire Breast Cancer Haven. The inspirational models have all visited The Haven in the heart of Leeds and accessed their free support services, which help with the physical and emotional side effects of breast cancer.
The Event was opened with the wonderful Swing Thing Duo entertaining the guests before a delicious meal was served. BBC Radio Leeds’ Liz Green compered the Fashion Show where ranges were showcased by Bo Carter, Swanky Pants, Jigsaw, Womenzone and the concessions from Debenhams White Rose; Phase Eight, Monsoon, Jacques Vert and Coast.
The models were supported on the day by friends, family, colleagues and some famous faces too, including Kay Mellor, Gaynor Faye, Amy Walsh, Michelle Hardwick, Anthony Quinlan, Michael Parr, Natalie J Robb, Bhasker Patel & Chistine Talbot. The models were also surprised on the day by two of the Leeds Rhinos, Stevie Ward and Ashton Golding, who accompanied them on the stage.
Debra Horsman, Programme Manager at The Yorkshire Haven, said, “We were so delighted to be joined by such wonderful supporters at our 6th Annual Blossom Fashion Show and have raised more than ever before. These ladies are so inspirational and we have been delighted to have supported them when they have needed our help. Roll on 2017!”
The Haven offers a free programme of in-depth support to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by breast cancer. The money raised will help the charity provide free support, such as specialist nurses, nutrition experts and emotional advice and support to anyone affected by breast cancer.
