UK’s First Series Of Regional Fertility Shows To Launch In Leeds

HealthHealthcareMind & Body

The Routes to Parenthood fertility show is coming to Yorkshire, and is being held at Leeds Royal Armouries on the 19 April 2015. As the UK’s first regionally-based fertility exhibition series, Routes to Parenthood provides Yorkshire couples and individuals, who have been affected by infertility, an opportunity to gain information on what options they have to start a family.

Set up by Andrew and Olivia Sanderson, who themselves have experienced infertility, IVF, fostering and adoption, the Routes to Parenthood fertility show will have various organisations from around the UK and Europe exhibiting. The types of companies will range from IVF clinics, surrogacy agencies, and egg donor organisations, through to fertility nutrition specialists, and adoption and fostering agencies.

Approximately 1 in 6 adults in the UK experiencing infertility; that is an estimated 300,000 people in Yorkshire affected. With the show being held in the heart of Yorkshire, show organiser Olivia Sanderson explains why their first show is being held in Leeds:

“Yorkshire was particularly important to us, not least because of the recent news of some Yorkshire CCGs (Clinical Commissioning Group) are very reluctant to offer IVF treatment at all. The people of Yorkshire are being discriminated against simply because of geography. We know exactly how infertility feels, so we want to help. Hopefully, our show will do just that.”

The show organiser’s approach of setting up regional shows has attracted a number of exhibitors; both international and local. Caroline Frost of Hull IVF explains why they will be exhibiting:

“We are very excited about exhibiting at Routes to Parenthood Yorkshire. The show represents a fabulous occasion to make ourselves known within our own community. Being part of a local show in this manner means we can get face to face with our customers and provide them with the information they need to become parents. If anyone in Yorkshire or the surrounding area is struggling with fertility – then this show is a must!”

Tickets for the Routes to Parenthood shows are £5.70 if you buy online or £7.50 if you buy them on the door, and are available online now at www.routestoparenthood.co.uk. Seminars within the show are free to attend.
