Talented young people from across the city will be battling it out this weekend to see which one of them will be crowned the winner of Breeze has Talent 2014.
Breeze has Talent is back for the seventh year running – to prove that once again Leeds is bursting with talented young performers.
After months of auditions, heats, and tough decisions, the final 12 have been chosen and are getting ready to showcase their talent at The Stanley and Audrey Burton Theatre, Northern Ballet Theatre, on Sunday 2 November 2014.
For the past six years, Breeze has Talent has provided an exciting competition platform for talented 8 – 19 year old performers to develop their skills and show Leeds what they can really do.
The finalists, who were chosen after competing in the heats at this year’s Breeze on Tour events include singers, dancers and a drummer and their ages range from 9 years old up to 19.
The winner will perform at the Leeds Lights switch-on which will take place on Thursday 13 November in front of a crowd of thousands, and receive £300 towards equipment or coaching sessions to help them develop their talents.
The runners up will receive £200 and £100 and all the finalists will have an opportunity to appear at one of the local Christmas lights switch-on events across Leeds in November and December. Councillor Jane Dowson will present the prizes at what promises to be a fantastic night crackling with young talent.

“There are so many talented young people in Leeds so I am really looking forward seeing what these performers can do.
“The standard of competition has been very high over the past few years and it is always really encouraging to see our youngsters demonstrating what they can do.
“As a child friendly city we will continue to support and nurture that talent and will be doing all we can to help every young person across the city to fulfil their potential.”

The finalists who are competing in Sunday’s competition are:
Punjabi Roots Academy talented students from Priesthorpe High, who perform Bhangra/Bollywood dance, Dhol drumming, and MC Rapping.
Nida – writes and performs her own original songs.
Junior Frood is 10 years old and attends Carr Manor Primary School in Meanwood. He is UK Freestyle Dance Champion 2014.
George Hodgson has been writing and recording his own material since the age of 10.
LeAndre West is a young singer who attends the David Young Community Academy.
Kieron Moore has received a music scholarship at Fulneck School, Pudsey where he is a year 8 pupil.
Pippa Simpson aged 15 Pippa is an aspiring singer/ song writer.
Ewan McCaig-Holt is a talented drummer who’s 10 years old.
Fabian Richard is 17 years old and studying A levels at college, singer
Tree is 16 years old and attends The Morley Academy. She is a singer song writer who has created her own unique sound and genre ‘Acoustic Folk-Metal.
Kyrome Richards is 16 and currently studying A’ levels, he is a singer and beat-boxer.
Jessica May Frost is 9 years old, attends Springbank School in Farsley and has shown a passion for singing since she was 2.
