WORLD OF BEATRIX POTTER ATTRACTION – WHERE IS PETER RABBIT?

EntertainmentLocal News

Last month our feature celebrated 150 years of Beatrix Potter – the author loved by children everywhere. As reported in the feature, The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness-on-Windermere are celebrating this milestone and their 25th anniversary with Where is Peter Rabbit? The Beatrix Potter Musical Adventure showing in their Old Laundry Theatre until the 4th September.
Some of the Yorkshire Reporter team went to see the show along with their young children and they all had a fantastic time. On the beautifully illustrated stage set are six actors who use their singing, dancing and puppetry skills to bring the favourite Beatrix Potter characters to life including Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle Duck, Jeremy Fisher, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle and Mr Tod.
The show is true to the original stories, rather than the more modern, gentler tone that is portrayed in the Cbeebies series. There are definitely moments that may be scary for some very young viewers such as when Mr McGregor wearing a mask chases Peter Rabbit, this along with the nasty character of Mr Brock the badger, can be too much for some. It is therefore not recommended for under 3’s, but this is left to the discretion of the parents. Older children will no doubt love all the characters, our two children completely enjoyed all of it and at just 2 ½ years old were not worried in the slightest! They were captivated the whole way through, and combined their visit with a pre-booked tea with Peter Rabbit, and a wander around the attraction itself. The day was rounded off with a Peter Rabbit and Jeremy Fisher soft toy, bought from the gift shop. They had a whale of a time https://seatplan.com/london/theatre-royal-haymarket-venue/– so much so that they keep asking when they can go again! It is easy to say that the visit was a huge success and well worth the drive over to the Lakes. Both slept on the way home to Yorkshire, cuddling their new companions, and have both taken them to bed with them ever since!
