FeaturesWagging Tales

The Young Kennel Club (YKC) is inviting entries for its annual Artist of the Year competition and is encouraging all painters and photographers in the making to express their creativity and showcase their dog artistry skills.

Entries must feature a photo or painting of a dog and should fit the theme of ‘Bright and Bold’.

This year’s judging panel will be looking for distinctive artwork that catches their attention, and demonstrates an effective use of bright colours, whilst also showcasing creativity. They will look at three key areas: impact of the photograph or painting, creativity of the image and the composition.

The overall winner will receive £80, four tickets to Crufts 2024, 2nd place will receive £50 and four tickets to Crufts 2024, while 3rd place will receive £30 and four tickets to Crufts 2024.

YKC members have until Wednesday 31 January 2024 to submit their entries. The photographs should be portrait only, and no bigger than 10MB, in JPEG format and no smaller than 600×600 pixels.
