More Tickets Released For Jorvik Viking Festival

EntertainmentWhat's On

Mead tasting, Viking knitting, wire-weaving and tickets for a plethora of Norse-themed activities for people of all ages are on sale as more details of February’s JORVIK Viking Festival are released!

The latest release of tickets gives visitors an idea of what to expect from the year’s JORVIK Viking Festival, which runs from Monday 12 – Sunday 18 February in the heart of York.  A host of free events – including a Viking-age encampment in Parliament Street and St Sampson’s Square, arena displays and the incredibly popular March to Coppergate have now been confirmed.  The Beserker Boot Camp – training in Viking combat skills for children aged 5-12 – returns each day to York Guildhall with sessions now available to book for just £5 per participant.

“We released the first tickets for our Viking Feast, Viking Games and Festival Finale : The Realms of Yggdrasil last November, and all three events look destined to sell out so we would encourage those who want to attend to secure their tickets soon,” adds Abi.  “We still have a few half-priced tickets to the Viking Games on the afternoon of Saturday 17 February available for families on low incomes – we don’t want people to miss out due to the cost-of-living crisis if we can possibly avoid it.”

A new event for 2024 is an Evening of Mead Cocktails and Sagas at Barley Hall.  Presented by Nidhoggr Mead Co, each cocktail will be accompanied by a Viking saga, dramatically retold by the evening’s Skald.  Tickets cost £35 (over 18s only) for what promises to be a fantastic evening of storytelling and celebration.
