Following the success of the annual Leeds International Beer Festival, Leeds Town Hall hosts the city’s first ever International Wine Festival on 23rd- 24th May. The aim is to bring local and international suppliers under one roof and create a one stop ‘pop up’ shop showcasing the best of local and international wines, whilst aiming to make the industry more accessible to the general public.

The event, charged in advance at £25 a ticket per day (£30 on the day), includes a commemorative tasting glass and programme and gives wine lovers access to 10 hours of wine tasting & industry expertise from 12pm- 10pm. The main hall will offer over 100 wines from 12 different countries and a chance to meet vineyard representatives in a ‘meet the winemaker’ room. In addition there will be 4 different master classes, wine tasting and judging opportunities held in the beautiful courtroom, including talks from Christine Austin, wine writer from The Yorkshire Post.  George & Joseph Cheesemongers and The Reliance Bar & Dining Room will bring the perfect cheese and charcuterie feast to accompany the day. Audiences will also be able to order their favourite wines at the event at discounted prices. All this washed down with live music and celebration in one of the most iconic buildings in the city.

Leeds Town Hall is fast becoming a city hotspot for food and drink following successful events such as the Leeds International Beer Festival now in its 4th year and the most recent Cocktails in the City which was a sell-out event.

Grapeful, the event organisers say ‘we are delighted to present a new wine festival in Leeds and we’re especially excited to host the event in the city’s most iconic building. Audiences will be able to taste some fantastic wines and delicious food in an amazing setting with activity taking place around the venue. We will offer a very different and inclusive wine tasting experience where audiences can find out more about the world of wine in a relaxed and fun atmosphere’

Event tickets are on sale now charged at £25 in advance and available from www.grapefulleeds.com or at the Town Hall.
