It’s Festival Announcement Season!

TRAMLINES FESTIVAL, Sheffield’s Biggest Party is over the moon to finally reveal the 2023 line-up. Richard Ashcroft, The Courteeners, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott will headline The Sarah Nulty Main Stage in the celebratory 15th edition of the three-day event at Hillsborough Park, Sheffield from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd July. Also amongst the first line-up announcement are: Blossoms, DMA’s, Kaiser Chiefs, Sugababes, Bloc Party, Beabadoobee, Kate Nash, Katy B, Sea Girls, Pale Waves, special guests The Enemy and The Zutons plus many more, including the full comedy line-up featuring Omid Djalili, Jonathan Pie and Paul Smith.

The appearance of Richard Ashcroft will be bringing down the Main Stage curtain on Friday night, followed by The Courteeners’ return on Saturday in a historic year where the band’s classic debut album, St Jude, went to number one in the album charts, 15 years after its original release. The Sunday headline slot is always a special one, and who better to host it than the infallible duo, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott.

Spanning rock, pop, indie and alternative festival goers can stomp the festival site to find their all-time favourites or discover something new. There are bands in abundance in this first phase including; local Yorkshire lads, the Kaiser Chiefs, who’ve promised a new album will drop this year; Manchester favourites Blossoms; the BRIT Award winning Sugababes, and Australia’s DMA’s in a much anticipated appearance after Tramlines 2020 was postponed due to the pandemic when they were originally billed to play. Like everyone who performs, they’re bound to fall in love with Tramlines and its cheeky Sheffield sensibilities. 

The critically acclaimed Beabadoobee also joins the bill where festival goers will get to witness just why she’s earned her ‘guitar hero’ status. Tramlines welcomes back Katy B following her five-year hiatus and now armed with a ton of new music. Special guest slots this year come from The Enemy and The Zutons, which added to Kate Nash, Sea Girls, Pale Waves, and Red Rum Club, make for a reyt good line-up. 

Another essential date in the summer festival diary for indie-lovers and new music heads alike, LIVE AT LEEDS: IN THE PARK continues to emerge as one of the best new festivals in the country.  Established as the perfect all-day festival experience for hands-in-the-air celebrations, Live At Leeds: In The Park 2023 gets even bigger with a slew of new additions. 

Joining a bill already stacked with unforgettable highlights, indie legends, the most talked about names in modern alternative music and those ready to be discovered as fans’ next favourite artist – is a true mix of styles and sounds born for festival moments. Since emerging back in 2014, DMA’s have become an undeniable force in modern guitar music. With their anthemic knack of sound-tracking the highs and lows of modern life, they’ve continued to evolve with each step – establishing themselves as a bona fide live phenomenon with a rapturous fanbase that continues to grow and grow. With their anticipated fourth album ‘How Many Dreams?’ set to land this month, expect their set at Live At Leeds: In The Park to be nothing short of show-stealing.

Revered as one of the greatest live bands of all time, the perfect festival day simply can’t exist without The Hives. With a career spanning over 20 years, The Hives have torn apart stages across the globe with their feverish garage-rock and unpredictable live show that needs to be seen to be believed. With a summer tour with Arctic Monkeys planned, cuts such as ‘Hate To Say I Told You So’, ‘Tick Tick Boom’, ‘Main Offender’, ‘Walk Idiot Walk’ and more in their arsenal and lead by the unstoppable presence of frontman Pelle Alqmvist – Live At Leeds: In The Park 2023 is set to bear witness to live royalty when The Hives take to the stage. 

■ Black Honey

Other new names for the festival include Cavetown, Crawlers, Bully, The Big Moon, Black Honey and The Beths. Live At Leeds: In The Park takes place on Saturday 27th May 2023 at Temple Newsam.
