The North Yorkshire Moors Railway Popular Santa Express And Pullman Festive Dining Experience

The NYMR is gearing up for a fun-filled winter season with the news that its annual favourites, the popular Santa Express and Christmas Pullman dining experience, are back for 2021, with tickets on sale now.

Santa and his team of elves will be returning to the heritage railway this Christmas for a magical journey for all the family. 

For just £26 per person*, hop on board from either Pickering or Grosmont Station and enjoy an enchanting one-hour train journey with a meet and greet with Santa Claus as well as a special Christmas present and NYMR backpack for each child. 

Pickering Santa Special dates and times: 

Santa Specials will depart from Pickering Station on the 4th & 5th, 11th & 12th, 18th & 19th and the 20th to 24th December at 09:35, 11:10, 13:55 and 15:30. 

Grosmont Santa Specials dates and times: 

Santa Specials will depart from Grosmont Station on the 4th & 5th, 11th & 12th, 18th & 19th and the 20th to 24th December at 10:15, 12:30 and 14:35.

*Children under 12 months can travel on the service free of charge however a seat or a gift will not be provided. If you would like to provide your own present, Santa will be happy to hand this out.

For those who enjoy dining in style, the Festive Dining Experience is a must. Featuring delicious and warming starters, traditional roast mains and of course the festive-favourite, Christmas pud, the Christmas Moorlander services will depart from Grosmont Station on Thursdays to Sundays in December before Christmas Day and from Pickering Station on 29, 30, 31 December 2021, as well as the 1 & 2 January 2022.

With prices from £149 for a table or two, £298 for a table of four or a private coupé for four priced at £303, guests can enjoy a complimentary glass of mulled wine on arrival, followed by a selection of delicious seasonal dishes – including chestnut, parsnip and bacon soup, smoked salmon with beetroot and vodka crème fraiche or a caramelised red onion and goats cheese tart to start, followed by festive turkey or beef, poached salmon fillet or a vegetable Wellington for main course.

Of course pudding is a must, with a variety of homemade sweet treats such as apple, cinnamon and sultana pie or orange and cranberry cheesecake among the fan favourites. What’s more, experience the rest of the fabulous festive journey through the picturesque North York Moors whilst enjoying mince pies, handmade chocolates and freshly brewed coffee.
