First Direct Arena!

Indeed winter may be on its way but the winter season at First Direct Arena is going to be red hot with some of the biggest performers set to grace their stage during the dark nights.

■ Evanescence

It is finally happening. WITHIN TEMPTATION and EVANESCENCE will be at the First Direct Arena as part of dates to the UK leg of their WORLDS COLLIDE tour. Twice rescheduled from 2021, fronted by two of the most influential and creative women in the rock world in the form of Amy Lee from Evanescence and Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation, the two bands play this double header on 19th November.

■ Holly Humberstone

At the core of the BRIT Rising Star, HOLLY HUMBERSTONE is her love of the craft and art of storytelling. Through her breakthrough debut EP “Falling Asleep At The Wheel” released in 2020, to critically revered “The Walls Are Way Too Thin” released last year, and sublime singles “London Is Lonely” and “Sleep Tight”, Holly captures the universal feeling of anxiety when you leave home, move to a new city and feel lost and displaced, to finally having a small place of your own. Audiences have grown up with Holly, and doubtless she will hit the arena in 2023. But at the moment beat the crowds as she takes to countless stages with just her guitar and keys. She told us “I guess this is me closing the chapter on the first part of my journey. I’m writing my debut album as we speak and it’s going to come next year. It’s my most personal music yet and I hope I can continue to document my experiences for them to become yours” Holly plays the O2 Academy on the 23rd.

■ Florence + The Machine

FLORENCE+THE MACHINE released her 5th studio album Dance Fever, earlier this year, hitting the number 1 spot in the UK charts on release, marking her forth album to achieve this feat. An album that sees Florence at the peak of her powers, coming into a fully realised self-knowledge, poking sly fun at her own self-created persona, playing with ideas of identity, masculine and feminine, redemptive, celebratory, stepping fully into her place in the iconic pantheon. Catch them on 25th November.
