Motoring

Isuzu UK’s award-winning pick-up, the Isuzu D-Max, has recently been listed as number one on Top Gear’s list of best available off-road vehicles for 2023.

The global automotive news outlet, which holds a massive presence in the motoring world thanks to the famous namesake television programme as well as the online and print media channels, has positioned the Isuzu D-Max at number one on the eclectic mixture of off-road vehicles. The top ten list, including pick-ups, 4x4s and even subcompact cars, examines vehicle features including affordability, versatility, comfort, and most importantly off-road capability.

Being published in the ‘Top Gear Advice’ section of the website is also a testament to the article’s validity, with Top Gear being renowned for its highly informed and respected views on automotive topics, often praised for yielding such insightful advice. Within the article, the Isuzu D-Max is described as having “unreal off-road capability” with “top-spec trims”.

Alan Able, Managing Director of Isuzu UK, commented: “Everyone at Isuzu UK is overwhelmed with accomplishment as a result of this article. Receiving this high level of recognition proves that having a team of committed individuals and an outstanding product means that you can really compete with the big players of the market like Ford and Land Rover.”

The Award-Winning Isuzu D-Max range is renowned for its jack-of-all-trades character due to its versatility and capability, proving itself to be an excellent family pick-up while still living up to the D-Max’s workhorse heritage. The D-Max has also been refined for leisure seekers and thrilling adventures, with an improved off-road capability, allowing the pick-up to explore the terrain like never before.

With every 4×4 vehicle in the Isuzu D-Max range, there is an intelligent 4WD shift-on-the-fly system, offering 2H for normal driving conditions, 4H for terrain with minimal traction and 4L for more extreme off-road landscapes. Vehicles in the range that are All-Purpose specification and above are also fitted with a button-activated rear differential lock, enabling the pick-ups to traverse highly uneven terrain. Add to that an impressive ground clearance of up to 235mm, an approach angle of 31°, a departure angle of 24° and a ramp angle of 22°, and the Isuzu D-Max’s off-road credentials are second to none in the pick-up world.

Combining the Isuzu D-Max’s exceptional capability with refined levels of comfort has resulted in the vehicle already receiving multiple honours in 2023. The year began with a triad of success, as the D-Max was titled ‘Pick-Up of the Year’ by Company Car & Van, 4×4, and What Van? magazines, while the Arctic Trucks AT35 model was also named ‘Best Individual Model’ by 4×4 magazine. Being rated as the number one off-road vehicle for 2023 by Top Gear further reinforces the D-Max’s success, reflecting why demand continues to increase for the award-winning range.
