JOSH WARRINGTON UNVEILED AS CHARITY PATRON

CharityLocal News

Snaps (Special Needs And Parents Support) were introduced to their new patron recently, Josh Warrington. Josh was thrilled to be asked to be involved and had a great time being introduced to the children and families who use the service. Chair of Trustees, Chris Eatwell gave Josh the tour of Penny Fields special inclusion school where the Snaps sessions take place each Saturday and explained fully what Snaps has to offer.
In the rebound room Josh watched as one of the children had her session. Josh was really interested to hear how rebound therapy was beneficial. Chris explained that from children on the autism spectrum to children with severe physical disabilities the benefits can range from pure enjoyment to teaching the body to move in different ways. He explained that each child has their own profile and medical record at Snaps so each therapist can tailor their session to exactly what that child needs.
Next for Josh was the swimming pool where he enjoyed watching the hydrotherapy session. Watching the therapist working with the children and seeing the pure joy on their faces as they were moved around the pool was really moving for him.
In the main hall there was a Boccia session running. With Ross and Adam leading the Boccia team lots of children were getting involved. Josh then spent some time meeting the parents and children in the hall who took the opportunity to have plenty of photographs taken with him.
When asked why Josh had become involved with Snaps he said that he met Dean Sanderson, manager of Snaps at a charity ball earlier in the year. After listening to his story he was keen to learn more. Josh is Leeds born and bred and has two siblings with special needs. Josh said “This is a charity and a subject which is very close to my heart and if I can help to raise either awareness or their profile then I will do what I can.” Josh managed to raise many smiles from the children and parents alike and also had a mini sparring session with some very young boxing enthusiasts.
Snaps thank Josh for getting involved and look forward to seeing him again at Snaps.
