LEEDS CROONER PAUL STONE BRINGS BIG BAND SOUND TO THE GRAND DÉPART YORKSHIRE STAGE OF ‘LE TOUR 2014’

Local News

With a decade of live performance work, a self-funded album to his credit and a voice as smooth as silk, Paul Stone is finally gaining the musical recognition he rightly deserves on national BBC Radio 2.

The proud Yorkshire-born crooner said: “I was stunned to hear myself on the Steve Wright show in the afternoon at peak drive-time. I almost fell from my chair to hear Steve’s comments!”

Paul’s music was initially picked up by BBC Radio 2 Producer Malcolm Prince and has featured on several BBC Radio 2 shows including Paul O’ Grady’s Sunday show as well as Clare Teal’s show specialising in ‘big band music’.

With a determined and pragmatic approach, a strong sense of self-belief and a solid dose of Northern tenacity, unsigned artist Paul has continued to reach out to people daily through his music. Paul has no PR team, marketing agents or representatives and yet his continuing acclaim is testimony to the determination of a self-starter who has the belief that he can achieve success in his endeavours. Paul’s continued achievements are proof indeed that a route to the music industry without the aid of television reality or talent shots is still possible.

Paul, 32, commented: “The music industry is very much a career paved with brambles, but it is worth every ounce of energy and effort to hear my work on national radio.” Radio 2 DJ Steve Wright added during his drive-time show: “Now wait ’til you hear this; Paul Stone croons Simple Minds. It’s perfect!”

With additional assistance from the press, it is clear that this unstoppable force from Yorkshire has what it takes to make it.

Paul Stone is live on the Main Stage at ‘Le Tour – Grand Départ’ with his next independent single release in Leeds on July 5. Paul believes it is high time we had a British crooner achieving musical success. Listeners to his music likewise believe that Paul Stone could well be that man.
