Landmark hotel, The Queens in Leeds City Square, is lighting up each night from tomorrow, Thursday 7 May to display a colourful rainbow as a symbol of thanks and hope.
The rainbow light show is an appreciation display by the hotel to thank all frontline workers, and to serve as a colourful image to cheer up people who are passing by.
“Rainbows are often seen as a symbol of hope, reminding people that there is a rainbow that will appear after the rain. We wanted to light up our hotel to serve as a beacon of hope during the Covid-19 pandemic, and hopefully make people smile when they see the colourful display,” says Paul Rogers, General Manager of The Queens.
The hotel will display its kaleidoscope of colours every night at dusk.
The Queens hotel majestic building dates back to 1937, with an Art Deco style that permeates throughout the hotel. The hotel is located in the middle of the city, with a private entrance directly to Leeds Train Station. The Queens hotel is the perfect base to explore many theatres and cinemas, great shopping at Trinity and in the historic Leeds arcades, or dining out at many award-winning restaurants.
