Be Seen; Be Clean: New Animations To Improve Hand Hygiene In Leeds

HealthHealthcareLocal News

Nurses at Leeds Teaching Hospitals (LTHT) are encouraging people to make sure they wash their hands when in and around hospitals with three new animations aimed at patients, visitors and staff.

The simple and accessible animations follow three different storylines, those of a patient, a visitor and a member of staff, and highlight how infectious diseases can spread due to poor hand hygiene and cross-contamination.

The Trust worked with design agency, FDP Group, to create the animations, which will be shared on information screens across Hospitals in Leeds and via the Trust’s social media.

Sarah Miller, Matron for Infection Prevention at LTHT, said: “Spreading the word about good hand hygiene is vital to patient safety, especially for the most vulnerable people staying in hospital.

“These animations are a great way of reminding people that everyone has a role to play when it comes to preventing potentially fatal infections like MRSA and C. difficile,” she added.
