Guiseley bar Everybodys All Day Social is backing the fundraising efforts of Leeds parents Ian and Hannah Twitchett by creating a charity cocktail in memory of their four-month-old daughter.
The new cocktail – Pippa’s Rhubarb and Raspberry Bramble – will help to raise vital funds for Martin House Children’s Hospice near Wetherby, where the couple’s daughter passed away in December 2017. The cocktail is made up of Whitley Neill rhubarb and ginger gin, lemon, sugar, Chambord and fresh raspberries and 25p from every cocktail sold will go to the charity.
Pippa was born 10 weeks prematurely alongside her twin sister in August 2017. She weighed just 726 grams at birth and passed away in Martin House Hospice aged 4 months after catching a virus which resulted in acute liver failure.
Her parents – who live in Meanwood with Pippa’s twin sister Penny and their four-year-old daughter Evelyn – wanted to help other families who have suffered a similar experience.
Pippa’s father Ian Twitchett, who works as a manager at Everybodys said,
“Pippa received wonderful care from the staff at Martin House. Creating a cocktail in her name will help us to raise money for the hospice to support other families of children with life shortening conditions.”
Ian is also arranging a fun day for local families in memory of Pippa. The fundraising event, which will be hosted by Everybody’s bar on 11 August this year, is already gaining support from regulars and local businesses and will include live music, family activities and a barbeque.
Managing Director of Everybodys bar Adam Lewis said,
“We’re delighted to support Ian and Hannah’s fundraising efforts. Everybodys is very popular with families and we’re very grateful to both our customers and other local businesses who have pledged their support in raising funds for such a worthwhile and important cause.”
Since opening in June 2016, Everybody’s All day Social has become an established favorite with local families in Guiseley. With a dedicated children’s menu, a selection of games and activities which include a free kids cinema during every school holiday. Alongside its cocktail menu, the bar serves craft beers and an all-day food menu of seasonal dishes.
