Have An Adventure At Xscape Yorkshire

Local News

Trampolines, skis, and cinema screens have proved the perfect mix for Xscape Yorkshire after it welcomed 4 million visitors for the first time ever in a year – making it the county’s biggest tourist attraction of its kind.
Xscape Yorkshire has attracted almost double the visitors to Westminster Abbey and around a million more than The Tower of London in 2015, cementing its place as a top 20 attraction in England.
Located in Glasshoughton, Castleford, Xscape Yorkshire opened in 2003 after a £56m investment, covers a size close to six football pitches and employs more than 1,000 people.
Its activities include a trampoline park, real snow indoor ski slope, skate park, indoor golf, 10 pin bowling, an aerial assault course, climbing wall and an IMAX cinema among others.
Dan Wharton, Marketing Manager of Xscape Yorkshire, said: “Achieving 4 million visitors is a fantastic milestone for this centre and one we are very proud of. Our success lies in the uniqueness and variety of our offer that keeps people coming back for more and attracts visitors from far and wide. We’ve worked hard to deliver new exciting activities in the leisure market that give our customers great experiences they won’t find elsewhere.”
Deborah Hindley, Chair of Yorkshire’s Magnificent Attractions, added: “Xscape Yorkshire just gets better and better and is now a must see attraction for Yorkshire residents and visitors to the region. I think their success is partly due to their constant investment in new activities and to its appeal to young people, families and adventurers. It’s contributed massively to the local economy and really helps promote tourism in the region.”
The attraction sits close to the M62 near junction 32 and its towering façade – equal to the height of around four double decker buses – is now a key feature of the county’s skyline.
