Happy New Year to you all! This year we will be holding more specialist auctions than ever before. All our items are offered to collectors throughout the world who are able to bid live through our online bidding platform. Since Gary has taken part so many auctions for television programmes such as ‘Flog It’, ‘Antiques Roadtrip’, ‘Posh Pawnbrokers’ and others in the past, we have established ourselves as one of the most well known Auction companies in the area.
In the past few years, we have noticed a very large increase in the value of good watches, jewellery, gold and silver items. These quality items are often bought by private clients through the auction from countries as far afield as Australia, USA and The Philippines as well as from many other areas.
Sales of whisky and fine wines have created record prices for us this year and we are hoping to have more of these specialised sales soon.
Militaria, medals and war related items are very popular at the moment and there is also a soaring demand for Sport memorabilia.
Good modern art and signed prints are doing especially well. We recently sold a David Hockney book with a signed Ipad drawing for £28,000 and the value of signed artist’s proofs by artists such as Lowry and others has gone up significantly.
Coins did particularly well this year and we are proud to announce many new records were established by our auction room. Collectable coin sets in gold and silver are ones to look out for.
Toys continue to sell well particularly in the USA. In the music section, vinyl records are back in fashion and we have a waiting list for good hifi equipment.
Good china, porcelain, glassware and other collectables are still sought after. A pair of Minton tiles were sold for an amazing new record price by us for just under £10,000.
Our biggest auction last year was for a collection of Mouseman and Yorkshire Critter carved oak furniture which continues to be very popular and we have noticed more interest in antique furniture as well as in good clocks.

We can provide a valuation service for probate, insurance and sale purposes and work with many solicitors, banks and institutions. Our services also include selling the contents of the property and clearing away the non-saleable items. We are registered green tippers and use landfill as little as possible, passing items of any use on to charities. We also offer a first rate house removal service with our specialized staff who are used to moving the most precious and valuable items.
